위닝 샷이란 승부를 가르는 핵심적인 타구를 말한다. 청춘의 삶의 무게를 홀로 싸우고 있는 1명의 선수가 가지고 있는 무게로 표현. 작품 속에서 이 샷의 운명이 완전히 정해지진 않았지만 작가는 그걸 지켜보는 관객이 기대감을 가지고 선수를 함께 응원해 주길 바란다. 다대 일의 구도, 상대편의 승부에 별 관심없는 태도, 비상식적인 코트의 크기차이, 홀로 1명의 선수를 응원하는 강아지등이 관람포인트.

This is not the image of Ryu Hyun-jin standing tall on the mound, ready to unleash a pitch with all his might. Instead, the painting places him somewhere unexpected at a playground where children run and play. But if you look closely, you’ll see that this, too, is a kind of playing field for him. 색연필 / Color-pencil on paper 종이 그림사이즈 : 15cm x 10cm 엄마의 케이크는 크리스마스 색깔이었다. - 리틀포레스트 중에서 2025 1월 <기획전시 : 키친드로잉> 꼬메아미꼬갤러리에서 전시했던 작품입니다.

식사 중 실수로 떨어뜨리고 쏟아져 생긴 흔적들이 아름답다는 생각이 들었다. 그것들이 마치 캔버스 위로 물감이 묻은 붓이 지나간 흔적처럼 느껴졌고, 곧 그릇들과 함께 치워지고 지워질 것이라는 생각에 애처롭게 느껴졌다. 그래서 그 흔적들을 채집해 개인적으로 아름답다고 생각하는 짙은 파란색 안료로 표현했고, 반짝이는 금색을 많은 사람들이 아름답다고 생각할 수 있을 것 같아 실제 금을 사용하여 표현하였다. 언젠가는 사라질 흔적을 영원히 사라지지 않도록 남겨두는 것은 결국에는 사라질 모든 것들을 잊지 않기 위해서이다.

닥스훈트는 다리가 짧아 겁도 많은 편이라, 때론 다른 동물들이 되고픈 마음을 담았다. 누가 봐도 닥스훈트지만 다른 동물인 양 하는게 포인트이다. 많은 사랑을 받았던 자이언트 판다 푸바오 '행복을 주는 보물'이라는 이름의 뜻처럼 많은 이들에게 힐링을 주었던 판다를 닥스와 함께 부캐릭터로 담았다.

반복되는 둥근 형태들은 빗방울을 기다리며 조용히 숨을 고르는 우산처럼, 혹은 촘촘히 모여 있는 작은 항아리들처럼 보입니다. 초록과 청록, 흰색이 겹겹이 쌓이며 만들어내는 리듬은, 한 사람의 하루가 차곡차곡 쌓여 계절이 되고 시간이 되는 감각을 떠올리게 합니다. 그 사이를 가로지르는 짙은 파랑의 선들은 아직 떨어지지 않은 빗줄기이자, 곧 스며들 희망의 기호처럼 화면을 가볍게 흔듭니다. 아크릴 특유의 선명한 발색과 빠른 붓질로 만들어진 겹겹의 색면은, 젖은 땅 위에 고인 물웅덩이와 반짝이는 빛을 동시에 품고 있습니다. 가까이 다가가면 물감이 튄 자국과 미세한 흔들림들이 눈에 들어오는데, 이는 고요한 기다림 속에서도 계속해서 움직이고 변화하는 마음의 결을 닮아 있습니다. 이 작품은 비가 오기 전의 공기처럼 약간은 무겁지만, 곧 내릴 비를 예감하는 설렘을 함께 담고 있습니다. 화면을 바라보는 동안 관람자는 저 둥근 형태들 사이 어딘가에 자신만의 자리를 찾아 앉아, 곧 떨어질 첫 빗방울을 함께 기다려 보게 됩니다.
