작가노트 구생아집(俱生我執):나에 대한 불변하는 실체 선천적으로 타고난 자아에 대한 집착을 이야기 한다. 아집 그 단어의 느낌은 부정적이다. 아이러니하게 작가는 자신의 아집을 너무나 사랑 한다. 자신의 심신 중에 사물을 주재하는 상주 불멸의 실체가 있다고 믿는 집착, 그 집착으로 이야기를 만들어간다. 아집으로 만들어 낸 세상 이 세상은 새롭다. 현란한 사회 속에서 나를 잃지 않고, 져버리지 않으려 한다. 세상에서 유일한 개체라고 생각하며: 천상천하유아독존 (天上天下唯我獨尊 ). 그래서 특별하지만, 온전히 모든 것을 공감, 공명할 대상이 존재하지 않는다. 나르시시즘과 동시에 모순적으로 외롭고 슬픈 모든 감정의 파도에서 유영한다. 평범하지 않으며 평탄하지 않다. 지극히 자기애와 개인적인 이야기. 우울, 공격성, 이기심, 자존감 상실을 막기 위한 발악, 우울의 딜레마의 사회에서 작가는 자아에 집착 한다. 우울 그 또한 나를 이루는 요소 중 하나이며, 매일 지금의 나는 본래 순수한 나인가에 대하여 자문한다. 내가 나로서 있기 위해 우울에 도취하고 생각하고 느끼는 대로 행동하고 말하며 날이 선 시선 또한 서슴없이 쏟아낸다. 현란한 세상 속에서 트랜드에 따라 말뿐인 유니크 속에 자신을 가두는 오류를 범하지 말고 아이 같은 모습으로 본인의 아집을 편견 없이 쏟아내라. 결국 '이 세상에 자기 자신보다 다른 사람을 더 사랑하는 사람은 없다, 모든 사람이 자기 자신을 가장 사랑 한다.’ #인스파이어드공모전

빛을 향해 피어나는 해바라기는 희망과 존재의 본질을 상징한다. 어둠에 가려진 존재는 마치 자신조차 알지 못하는 내면의 가능성을 품고 있다. 해바라기가 머금은 빛은 단순한 생며의 원천이 아닌, 자아를 찾기 위한 갈망과 끊임없는 여정을 의미한다. 겉으로 보이는 모습과 숨겨진 본질 사이에서, 우리는 모두 자신의 빛을 찾아 헤맨다. 해바라기가 태양을 쫓듯, 진짜 “나” 자신을 찾기 위한 여정은 혼란과 고통을 지나 결국 내면에 머물고 있던 빛을 깨닫는 과정이 아닐까.

〈울림: 영혼〉은 색이 가진 가장 근원적인 진동, 즉 ‘존재의 본질’을 시각화한 작업이다. 보라의 농도는 단순한 색이 아니라, 깊은 내면의 공명과 명상적 침잠을 상징한다. 작가는 화면 위에 감정의 층위를 쌓아가며, 색이 하나의 영적 파동처럼 관객의 내면에 스며들기를 의도했다. 이 작품은 ‘울림’ 시리즈의 마지막 장으로, 깊이(푸름)와 숨결(초록), 온도(마젠타)를 지나 결국 ‘영혼’이라는 보이지 않는 차원에 다다른 여정을 담는다. 색은 말 대신 진동으로 존재하며, 그 울림은 보는 이의 마음속에서 조용히 살아 숨 쉰다. #추상화 #원화 #인테리어 #캔버스화 #아크릴화 #소장기회 #컬렉터소장 #컬렉터 #보라 #울림

His arm is wrapped in bandages, his white uniform stained with dirt and sweat visible traces of injury and rehabilitation. Yet, in his hand, he isn’t gripping a baseball. Instead, he’s holding onto the ropes of a swing, pushing children higher into the air. This piece is not merely a depiction of an injured athlete in an everyday moment. It’s a symbolic reflection of the weight Ryu carries not just as a player but as a father and a person navigating life beyond the mound. The uncertainty of his career due to injury, the sting of losses, the grueling road to recovery these are all battles of their own. But he continues to fight. Just as he pushes the swing with unwavering strength, he is pushing himself toward the mound once again. Baseball isn’t a sport of constant victories. Every player faces losses, setbacks, and injuries, but the true essence of the game and of sportsmanship is in overcoming those obstacles. Ryu’s worn uniform, his bandaged arm, and the dirt on his clothes are not mere details; they are marks of resilience, of the struggle to rise again. He is still fighting not just for another win, not just for his family, but for himself. His rehabilitation is more than a recovery process; it is a testament to perseverance, a refusal to let defeat define him. And we, as spectators, await the day he steps back onto the mound, ready to throw once more. The Unyielding Game transcends the simple notion of winning and losing. It delivers a deeper message that in both sports and life, true victory is not just about the final outcome, but about the journey and the mindset along the way. In competitive sports, winning is often the ultimate goal. But for an athlete facing injuries and adversity, what truly matters is not the scoreboard, but the ability to endure to keep going, to keep fighting. The title, The Unyielding Game, doesn’t imply domination over an opponent. Rather, it speaks to the unwavering spirit that refuses to break, the resilience to stand tall even in the face of defeat. Even when he is unable to stand on the mound, Ryu Hyun-jin’s battle continues through the pain of injury, the long road of rehabilitation, and the quiet strength of fatherhood. This, too, is part of his game. And in this game, he refuses to yield. This concept extends beyond sports; it mirrors a fundamental philosophy of life. We may stumble, we may lose, but true defeat only comes when we surrender.
