관성을 거스르지않고 잔잔히 깔려있는 자격지심과 함께 과거 가득한 내일을 맞이하며 살다보면 가로등 켜지는 시간이 빨라져도 눈사람의 사인이 화사가 되어도 잃어버릴 가치들이라 떠들며 꾸준한 퇴화를 반복하겠지

입체 캔버스, 시각적 착시효과 복잡하고 한정적이라 느껴지는 공간을 저의 시각으로 표현해 보았습니다. 또한 공허감도 함께 존재합니다. 갇혀있지 않지만 갇힌 것처럼 느껴지는 이 공간은 반복되는 현대인의 삶의 패턴 또는 저희의 모습이라고도 생각될 수 있습니다.

일묘봉인도<현대민화공모전입상작> 순지에 혼합재료 130*190 일묘봉인도는 민화의 형식을 재해석하여 현대적인 감각을 더한 작품이다. 중심에는 인간적인 감성을 지닌 호랑이가 자리 잡고 있으며 이는 전통적인 수호와 권위의 상징으로서의 호랑이를 현대적이고 개성적인 존재로 표현하고자 했다. 호랑이가 들고 있는 종이 왼편에는 조선 후기 김홍도의 금강산전도를 모티브로 하여 그린 풍경이 담겨 있다. 금강산의 웅장하고 신비로운 아름다움을 표현하며 자연과 전통에 대한 경외를 나타내고 있다. 또한 호랑이의 곁에서 담뱃대를 들고 시중드는 토끼는 전통 설화에서 영감을 받은 요소이다. 호랑이를 돕는 토끼의 모습은 강자와 약자 간의 독특한 관계를 유머러스하게 묘사하며 전통 설화에서 호랑이와 토끼가 지닌 상징성을 새롭게 해석했다. 토끼는 소박하면서도 영리한 존재로 그려졌으며 이는 민화 속 상징적 요소에 생동감을 부여하는 장치로 그려냈다. 배경 속 강렬한 색감의 하늘 화려한 패턴의 복장 그리고 세밀하게 묘사된 요소들은 전통적 소재와 현대적 표현 기법이 조화를 이루도록 의도하였다. 호랑이가 착용한 안경과 소품들은 전통을 현대적으로 재해석한 유머러스한 시각적 요소로, 관람자에게 친근감을 주고자 했다. This artwork is a modern reinterpretation of traditional Korean folk art, Minhwa. At its center is a tiger, a classic symbol of authority and protection, reimagined as a character with a unique and human-like charm. On the paper the tiger holds, the left side depicts a landscape inspired by Kim Hong-do’s Geumgangsan Jeondo (Panoramic View of Mount Geumgang) from the late Joseon Dynasty. This scene captures the grandeur and mystique of Mount Geumgang, expressing reverence for nature and traditional aesthetics. Beside the tiger is a rabbit holding its smoking pipe, assisting it in a whimsical act of servitude. This element draws inspiration from Korean folktales, humorously portraying the relationship between the powerful tiger and the clever rabbit. The rabbit, known for its wit and humility, adds a lively and playful touch to the composition. The vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and modern accessories, such as the tiger’s glasses, blend tradition with contemporary flair. These details are meant to create a unique harmony between the old and the new, inviting viewers to connect with the work on both an emotional and cultural level. Ultimately, this piece is not just a replication of the past but an exploration of traditional themes through a modern lens.
