“마음이 날다.” 연작은 일상의 경험에서 느끼는 감성들을 초현실적이고 시적인 방식으로 가상의 공간 안에서 보여주는 작업입니다. 개인적인 경험에서 출발한 이 이야기는 ‘진정성’과 ‘소통’에 관한 것으로, 이것은 ‘관계’라는 복잡한 그물망 안에서 느끼는 심리적 흔적과 정서를 조형적으로 형상화하는데 주안점을 둡니다. 또한, 경험의 이해와 공감 그리고 반성과 바람들의 이야기를 담아 가고 있습니다. 이 작업이 단순한 재현을 넘어 감각과 상상의 경계를 확장하며, 초현실적 세계와의 매개체 역할을 해주기를 바랍니다. 나름의 방식으로 만들어가는 가상의 공간들은 작가와 관객의 소통과 공감, 참여의 장이 되고, 종이비행기라는 상징적 사물 통해 물리적 공간과 심리적 공간을 넘나들며 바람과 희망의 메시지를 전달합니다. 이는 보는 이에 따라 각기 다른 감성과 그 의미들이 새롭게 재해석되어 이루어지기를 바랍니다.

나의 창작은 그들이 나와 함께하는 순간에서 시작된다. 털복숭이 친구들은 그 존재만으로도 창작의 원동력이 되며, 그들과 보내는 순간들은 마치 하나의 기록처럼, 내가 느끼는 감정과 그들이 온몸으로 표현하는 에너지를 그대로 담아내고 싶다. 그림 속에 살아 숨 쉬는 털복숭이 들의 모습은, 단순한 묘사가 아닌 나에게 주는 예술적 영감의 산물이고 그들의 생명력과 감정은 내 안의 예술적 감각을 끊임없이 자극하며 새로운 작품을 탄생시키게 한다. Haydonna

🧑‍🎨 artist statement ✔️Moon Greeting Series When we think of the moon, the words that first come to mind are wishes, hopes, and desires. Moon greeting, or "dalmaji," is an important custom deeply connected to the lives of our people throughout history. Traditionally, the light of the full moon has symbolized the dispelling of darkness and misfortune. People would gaze at the moon, praying for a bountiful harvest, health, and happiness. This act is not merely about observation; it reflects a remembrance of times when people lived harmoniously, attuned to the rhythms of nature. The moon illuminates the night’s darkness and symbolizes the cyclical changes in nature. Through moon greeting, people felt a reverence for the cycles of nature and expressed their wishes to the moon. I aimed to portray the moon, imbued with these hopes and future aspirations, as a living entity. The countless wishes of people are etched into the moon, remaining there with the hope that they will someday come true. Instead of simple representations of familiar objects and landscapes, I employ a unique artistic language by drawing fine lines, layering them repeatedly, and applying color through a meticulous process of distortion and transformation. This technique creates a surface on the moon that appears inscribed with people’s wishes, almost like veins, suggesting that the moon holds these desires within. Inspired by the life force of self-sustaining fruits and flowers that grow, bloom, and provide nourishment to animals and insects, only to return to the earth and nourish new growth, I frequently incorporate such elements into my work. Though these works are executed in oil paint, they are grounded in the compositional principles and restrained palette of traditional Eastern literati painting. The arrangement of the moon, fruits, and flowers aims to evoke a sense of tranquility and contemplative beauty. The "Moon Greeting Series" explores themes of harmony between nature and humanity and the fulfillment of wishes through various artistic endeavors.
