나침반의 바늘은 늘 전방을 가리키는데
그 쪽을 향한 길을 가르는 것은
느른한 기억의 강물이라.
'시간'과 '기억의 선명도'는 비례하는지,
시간이 거대해질수록
기억의 해상도는 점점 높아지는 것이다.

어찌 갈 바 모르는 뗏목 우에
내 그림자가 아홉척 드리우니
고개를 설레 돌려 저어 서녘을 봅네.
그 덧
남은 빛을 몰사(沒射)하는 너미해에
그저 넋없이 노박힌다네.

The needle of compass always points forward,
but what intersects the path toward it is
the slow river of memory.
Is 'time' proportional to 'the clarity of memory'?
As time grows larger,
the resolution of memory increases.

When My shadow casts long on the raft which is at a loss,
turn my head with excitement and see the west.
Am simply charmed with the setting sun, which beams the last bit of light.
